PRIZE MONEY for the totesport.com Players Championship has been increased to £250,000 following a contribution from the PDPA.
The inaugural Players Championship last year offered a £200,000 prize fund, which has been increased by £50,000 by the Professional Darts Players Association.
This additional prize money has been shared throughout the field, with the winner now receiving £60,000 and the runner-up taking home £24,000.
The losing semi-finalists' prize money increases to £15,000, with the quarter-finalists earning £10,000, second round losers taking home £6,000 and the first round losers winning £3,000.
"The support of the PDPA has been invaluable in the creation of the Players Championship series of events on the PDC Pro Tour, and we're delighted that this has been extended to the totesport.com Players Championship," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"This increase in prize money follows the arrival of totesport.com as the title sponsor for a tournament and is a great boost ahead of the totesport.com Players Championship beginning later this month."
