Baxter Backs Blackpool FC!

RONNIE BAXTER warmed up for his Sky Bet Mobile World Matchplay opener against Denis Ovens on Tuesday night with a visit to the Blackpool FC training ground.

Blackpool's Baxter linked up with his local football club to present them with a Unicorn dartboard for use at their training ground.

The visit coincided with the launch of Blackpool's new kit ahead of their pre-season friendly with Rangers at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night - a match Baxter will miss as he competes on the Winter Gardens stage in his World Matchplay opener.

"I'm a Blackpool lad and it's been great to follow the club's progress in the last few years," said Baxter.

"With the amount of time we're away on the PDC circuit it's not very often I get to games and it's typical that they play Rangers at home on a night I'm playing!

"But hopefully they'll have a good season and I can have some success in the World Matchplay to inspire them."

Ronnie is pictured above with Blackpool footballers Billy Clarke and Bojan Djordjic, and along with the Unicorn dartboard he presented two sets of his own darts to the squad.

Former Blackpool star Charlie Adam, who recently joined Liverpool, was amongst the World Matchplay crowd on Monday night as reigning champion Phil Taylor opened his title defence at the Winter Gardens.

Blackpool's game with Rangers kicks off at 7.45pm, with tickets still available on the night.

Tickets are also still available for the Sky Bet Mobile World Matchplay, including for Tuesday night's session at the Winter Gardens.
