Ladbrokes World Championship Field

THE field of qualifiers for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship has been confirmed, with PDPA Qualifiers Stuart Kellett and John Bowles claiming the final spots.

The £1 million tournament will be held at London's Alexandra Palace from December 14-January 1, featuring 72 players from around the world.

The leading 32 players from the PDC Order of Merit qualify by right and are seeded for the first round draw.

They are joined in qualifying by the top 16 qualifiers from the ProTour Order of Merit, the top four qualifiers from the European Order of Merit and a series of International Qualifiers, along with Kellett and Bowles after they reached the final of Monday's PDPA Qualifier in Barnsley.

Kellett will go straight into the first round draw alongside American number one Darin Young and Australian qualifiers Shane Tichowitsch and Kyle Anderson.

Bowles, meanwhile, completes the field of 16 players in the preliminary round, which features a host of International Qualifiers from around the world.

The preliminary round draw was made on Monday ahead of the PDPA Qualifier, and will pit German Andree Welge against China's Leung Chun Nam, Japan's Haruki Muramatsu against New Zealand's Dave Harrington and the Irish Matchplay champion Daryl Gurney against Croatia's Robert Marijanovic.

Germany teenager Max Hopp will meet South African qualifier Charl Pietersen, Philippines' Lourence Ilagan plays Welsh debutant Jamie Lewis - the qualifier from the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour Order of Merit - and Spain's Carlos Rodriguez meets Bowles.

World Soft-Tip Champion Paul Lim will take on Malaysian Mohd Latif Sapup, and Scandinavian qualifiers Jarkko Komula and Jani Haavisto drew each other in an all-Finnish battle.

The draw for the first round of the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship will be made at 11.30am on Tuesday December 4 live on Sky Sports News.
