UK Masters Schedule of Play

THE schedule of play for the UK Masters European Tour event has been confirmed ahead of the 64-player, £100,000 tournament at the Butlins Minehead Resort from March 8-10.

The three-day European Tour event will feature the likes of Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Adrian Lewis, James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld competing for a £20,000 first prize.

Play in Friday's first round will be split across two stages at the Butlins Minehead Resort, with the main stage being situated in the Skyline Pavilion and featuring ten matches per session in the afternoon and evening.

The stage two games will be held in the Reds Bar area situated just off the Skyline Pavilion.

All games on Saturday and Sunday will be held on the main stage in the Skyline Pavilion.

The tournament will kick off on Friday March 8, with the first round beginning at 12pm with ten games on the main stage, which will be headlined by number one seed Dave Chisnall's clash with Darren Webster.

Holland's Vincent van der Voort will open the event against Tony West before Paul Nicholson plays Shropshire youngster David Pallett.

Belgium's Kim Huybrechts, who reached the final of the Cash Converters Players Championship Finals last December in Minehead, will then play Canada's John Part, while Peter Wright meets Stuart Kellett and Taunton's Justin Pipe faces Germany's Bernd Roith.

Seven-time major finalist Terry Jenkins will play Kevin McDine, Ian White plays former World Youth Champion Arron Monk and Mervyn King plays Michael Smith before Kevin Painter - the former Players Championship Finals winner - takes on Steve West.

Welsh stars Mark Webster and Richie Burnett - both former World Champions - play Simon Craven and Michael Rasztovits respectively, while Jamie Caven plays Jim Walker and former UK Open finalist Colin Osborne meets Austrian Mensur Suljovic.

The evening session's main stage games will begin when Michael van Gerwen - the World Grand Prix champion and World Championship finalist who also won both UK Open Qualifiers in Crawley last weekend - plays Jelle Klaasen in an all-Dutch contest.

Somerset-based Gary Anderson, the 2011 Premier League champion, then plays Ian Moss, while Scottish pair Robert Thornton - the reigning UK Open champion - and John Henderson then face off.

Premier League star Wes Newton faces Ross Smith, Australia's Simon Whitlock meets Finnish qualifier Jarkko Komula and two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis takes on Dave Honey.

Dutch legend Raymond van Barneveld then meets German qualifier Tomas Seyler before World Champion Phil Taylor - who won the Players Championship Finals at Minehead last December - plays Andy Pearce.

Former World Championship finalist Andy Hamilton then plays Northern Irish newcomer Daryl Gurney, before seven-time major winner James Wade meets youngster Adam Hunt in the final game of the evening.

The stage two games in the evening session will begin with Ronnie Baxter's clash with Alan Tabern, before Wayne Jones plays Germany's Jyhan Artut, Colin Lloyd faces Brian Woods, Mark Walsh plays Paul Rowley, Andy Smith meets Ireland's Keith Rooney and Steve Beaton plays Belgian Kurt Van De Rijck.

The second round is split across two sessions (1pm-5pm and 7pm-11pm) on Saturday, with eight games per session being held on the main stage.

Sunday will see the tournament conclude across two sessions, with the eight third round games being played in the afternoon session (1pm-5pm) before the evening session (7pm-11pm) sees the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final take place.

All matches throughout the weekend will be the best of 11 legs.
