Crawley Hosts Important Weekend

CRAWLEY'S K2 Centre will host a key weekend of PDC ProTour action, with places in two German-based events up for grabs over the next three days.

The weekend will kick off on Friday night with the UK Qualifier for September's German Darts Championship, the sixth European Tour event of the year.

There will be 20 places in the tournament up for grabs, with the main European Tour event being held from September 6-8 in Hildesheim, Germany.

The UK Qualifier will begin at 7pm, with over 90 players having entered.

Saturday and Sunday will then see the fifth and sixth Players Championship events of the year held, with the pair of £50,000 tournaments being the last two before the cut-off for places in the PartyPoker.net European Championship.

Each event, beginning at 12pm on the day, will feature a field of 128 players competing for the £10,000 first prize.

Following Sunday's Players Championship, the top 16 players from the main PDC Order of Merit will qualify by right for the European Championship, along with the eight leading non-qualified players from the ProTour Order of Merit.

They will join seven qualifiers from the European Order of Merit, and Scandinavian Order of Merit leader Jani Haavisto in the 32-player field for the European Championship, with the draw expected to be made on Sunday night.

With two £10,000 first prizes up for grabs, the events offer the chance for all players to follow the lead of Jamie Caven in jumping up the rankings, with the Derby ace having won both Players Championships in Wigan last month and earn his place in the summer's majors.

The pair of events are also the last Players Championships to be held before July's cut-off for BetVictor World Matchplay places, although prize money won in the European Championship and at next week's Gibraltar Darts Trophy European Tour events will also count towards qualification.

Follow fixtures, results and event information here at www.pdc.tv throughout the weekend, while Live Scores from both Players Championship events will appear at the PDC Live Scores Website, and results will be posted on the @PDCResults Twitter page.
