ADRIAN LEWIS hopes to keep up his superb form of this summer when he travels to the Sydney Darts Masters later in August.
The 28-year-old followed up a quarter-final appearance in June's Speedy Services UK Open by winning his third major title at the PartyPoker.net European Championship.
He then won through to the final of the BetVictor World Matchplay, where even 19 maximums were not enough as Phil Taylor denied him the title in Blackpool.
However, the world number three is determined to continue that form when he returns to action later in August at the Sydney Darts Masters.
"My form's been good recently, winning the European Championship and reaching the World Matchplay final, and my confidence is high, so I'm looking to take that to Australia now," said Lewis.
"I've never been to Australia but I'm really looking forward to it. My aim's to win it but it won't be easy.
"I played an Australian player called Anthony Fleet about six years ago in the World Championship and whitewashed him, but it will be totally different now. We've over on their patch and the standard there has really gone up because of the circuit there now.
"I think I've got a great chance with the form I've been in."
Lewis also competed earlier this year in the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters, and admits that he is delighted to see the World Series of Darts spreading the professional game around the globe.
"It's a great format for taking darts around the world," he said. "Players like Michael van Gerwen, Simon Whitlock, myself and all of us in the top eight are characters and it's brilliant to be involved in.
"Until you come to a darts tournament as a fan, nobody knows what it's like. You can watch on TV, but when you're there and part of the atmosphere and tension, you realise there's nothing like it."
Sydney Darts Masters tickets are still available for the opening night on Thursday August 29, which will feature the eight First Round games. Tickets cost $60 for Floor Seating and $40 for Tiered Seating.
