Haven House Set For Ladbrokes Boost

HAVEN HOUSE Children's Hospice, the PDC's official charity, are in line for a bumper donation from Ladbrokes as the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship heads towards a record number of 180s.

Ladbrokes have pledged a donation of £10 per 180 hit during the 16-day Ladbrokes World Darts Championship, which would be doubled should the previous record number of 588 be beaten at Alexandra Palace.

A total of 487 maximums were landed during the 64 games which were played down to the quarter-finals - before the nine-set epics which saw Peter Wright defeat Wes Newton and Simon Whitlock edge out Ian White took the total beyond 500.

Newton's tally of 12 followed a dozen earlier in the day by Gary Anderson during his third round loss to Michael van Gerwen - with White later hitting 12 maximums of his own only to see Whitlock power in 15 180s during their contest.

That leaves the total of 180s hit so far in the event at 532, with two further quarter-finals, the semi-finals and final yet to be played at Alexandra Palace in the coming days.

Haven House are also fundraising at Alexandra Palace during the tournament with a Charity Darts Challenge in the Fans Village, giving fans the chance to win tickets to the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship final.
