Unicorn Eclipse HD Board Set For Debut

THE 2014 Premier League Darts will see the new Unicorn Eclipse HD board used in televised matches for the first time.

The new High Definition dartboard is part of a new range launched by Unicorn Products, the PDC's official equipment provider, and has previously been trialled on the PDC ProTour.

The dartboard, which features a seamless playing surface with improved HD white digital numbering, will now be introduced to major PDC events from the beginning of the Premier League Darts season in Liverpool on Thursday February 6.

"Unicorn have consistently been at the forefront of darts technology and their development of the Unicorn Eclipse HD board continues that trend," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"The HD board not only looks fantastic but it will be the best dartboard for our stars to play on."

Unicorn Managing Director Edward Lowy said: "It is unique. The board has been a success on the tour. The players, the viewers and the thousands packing all the venues will enjoy a new experience during the Premier League."

"The clarity on the Unicorn Eclipse HD board is remarkable. For over 70 years we have brought innovation to every aspect of the game and we will strive to carry on raising the bar."

Team Unicorn star Raymond van Barneveld added: "I am sure it will prove to be a big hit during the Premier League.

"It is all about improving the product and Unicorn as a company, is always at the heart of taking our sport forward."
