BRENDAN DOLAN enjoyed double success as he booked his place at the SINGHA Beer Grand Slam of Darts and the Ladbrokes World Series of Darts Finals as the qualifiers came to a close on Sunday October 23 at the Barnsley Metrodome.
In total, eight players secured their spot in November's Grand Slam, which sees 24 stars of the PDC up against players from the BDO competing across nine days, live on Sky Sports.
Joining Dolan in Wolverhampton is Robert Thornton - a former finalist in the event - Dimitri Van den Bergh, Ted Evetts, Brendan Dolan, Chris Dobey, James Wilson, Nathan Derry and Darren Webster.
The Grand Slam will be preceded by the Ladbrokes World Series of Darts Finals in Glasgow on November 5-6, with Steve Beaton, Simon Whitlock and Joe Murnan also qualifying.
It has been an enjoyable month for Dolan, having reached the last 16 at the Unibet World Grand Prix shortly after his wedding to Teresa, before his double success in Barnsley.
On his way to qualification, the Northern Irish ace saw off Ryan Harrington and Jan Dekker 5-2, before beating Nigel Heydon to reach the Qualification match. There, he narrowly edged past Belgian ace Kim Huybrechts 5-4 to secure his Grand Slam spot.
In the World Series Qualifier, he beat Ron Meulenkamp, Robert Owen, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Terry Jenkins to progress.
Whitlock has also been experiencing a hot run in form. The Australian ace has backed up his quarter-final berth at the World Grand Prix with two Players Championship titles, including hitting a nine-darter on his way to victory at Players Championship 19 on Friday.
After reaching his first PDC final at Players Championship 19 - where he lost out to Whitlock - Dobey put in another excellent display in the first qualifier. He beat Jim Walker, Beaton, Rowby-John Rodriguez and Tony Newell to clinch his Grand Slam place.
Belgian Van den Bergh booked his place with a 5-0 whitewash over Mickey Mansell, youngster Evetts beat Mike Zuydwijk 5-1, Wilson saw off Jenkins 5-3, Thornton beat Andrew Gilding 5-1, Derry edged out Scott Taylor 5-4 and Webster thwarted Jelle Klaasen 5-2.
Elsewhere, in the World Series Qualifier, Beaton beat Christian Kist 6-3 and Murnan saw off recent European Tour winner Alan Norris 6-4 to join Whitlock and Dolan in Glasgow.
The Ladbrokes World Series of Darts Finals takes place at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow, on November 5-6, with the SINGHA Beer Grand Slam of Darts taking place from November 12-20 at the Civic Hall, Wolverhampton.
