STARS of the PDC joined a host of top German celebrities in a special Pro-Am event at Dusseldorf's Maritim Hotel on Saturday, with Michael van Gerwen walking away with yet another trophy!

The Pro Sieben event saw eight darts stars joined by eight celebrities for the one-night event, which saw two groups of four pairings play off to find semi-finalists and finalists.

New World Champion van Gerwen was teamed up with Tim Wiese, the former German goalkeeper who is now a wrestling star, with two other former national football stars, Lothar Matthaus and Mario Basler joining Peter Wright and Max Hopp respectively.

Celebrity chefs Tim Malzer and Steffen Henssler partnered Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson, folk music singer Stefanie Hertel teamed up with Rowby-John Rodriguez and sports commentators Laura Wontorra and Matthias Opdenhovel joined Wayne Mardle and Mensur Suljovic.

The pairings of Wright/Matthaus and Taylor/Malzer won through from Group A, with Van Gerwen/Wiese and Suljovic/Opdenhovel coming through Group B.

Van Gerwen and Wiese then defeated Taylor and Malzer 3-0 in their semi-final, with Wright and Matthaus edging out Suljovic and Opdenhovel 3-2 in the last four.

Van Gerwen's winning streak then continued as he and Wiese overcame Wright and Matthaus 3-0 in the final to claim the trophy.
