MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is the odds-on 4/5 pre-tournament favourite to win the Unibet World Grand Prix title in Dublin ahead of next week's double-start tournament at the Citywest Hotel.
The world number one claimed the title for a third time in five years at last year's World Grand Prix, defeating Gary Anderson in the final.
He will be a 1/20 favourite with sponsors to win his first round against John Henderson, and is also 4/5 to take home the £100,000 title on October 7.
2016 runner-up Anderson, the number two seed, is the 9/2 second favourite, with world number three Peter Wright 7/1 to claim his second TV title of the year following March's UK Open success.
Mensur Suljovic, the Unibet Champions League of Darts winner in Cardiff, is 20/1 as he aims to claim his second TV title, with Northern Ireland's Daryl Gurney at 25/1 ahead of a quartet of players at 40/1; former finalists Adrian Lewis and Raymond van Barneveld, Michael Smith and Dublin debutant Rob Cross.
Two-time champion James Wade is joined as a 50/1 chance by 2013 runner-up Dave Chisnall, with Kyle Anderson 66/1 as he aims to follow up his Auckland Darts Masters success with another TV win.
The Unibet World Grand Prix will be held from October 1-7 at the Citywest Hotel in Dublin and broadcast live on Sky Sports.
