2017 German Darts Masters Draw

TOP SEED Gary Anderson will play leading home star Max Hopp in the first round of the 2017 German Darts Masters on Friday October 20, while Kyle Anderson and Mensur Suljovic will clash in Dusseldorf.

The inaugural PDC World Series of Darts event in Dusseldorf will be held at the Castello Arena on October 20-21, and broadcast live in Germany on ProSieben and ProSieben Maxx.

The top eight players in the World Series of Darts Order of Merit qualified to compete in the tournament, alongside invited players Hopp, Martin Schindler and Suljovic and five German Superleague qualifiers.

Scottish star Anderson, who has won the World Series events in Dubai and Perth this year, will come up against former World Youth Champion Hopp in a tasty first round tussle on Friday October 20.

Berlin-based youngster Schindler, who has made his breakthrough this year, will take on reigning World Champion Michael van Gerwen, who won the events in Shanghai and Las Vegas in July.

August's Auckland Darts Masters winner Kyle Anderson will take on September's Champions League of Darts winner Mensur Suljovic in a tasty clash between players who have won their maiden televised titles this year.

Phil Taylor, the 16-time World Champion who won the Melbourne Darts Masters, has drawn Robert Marijanovic, while UK Open champion Peter Wright takes on Dragutin Horvat and Raymond van Barneveld plays Stefan Stoyke.

World Grand Prix champion Daryl Gurney will meet Maik Langendorf, and James Wade plays Kevin Munch.

Following Friday's first round, play continues on Saturday afternoon (2pm) with the quarter-finals, before the decisive evening session (8pm) sees the semi-finals and final take place.

The 2017 German Darts Masters will be broadcast live on leading German channel ProSieben alongside coverage on ProSieben Maxx on October 20-21.

The opening night's coverage will be shared by the two channels as the 16 players face off in the first round on Friday October 20 (8.15pm-10.30pm live on ProSieben Maxx & 10.30pm onwards on ProSieben).

The quarter-finals in the afternoon session of Saturday October 21 will be broadcast on ProSieben Maxx from 2pm-6pm, with the evening session's semi-finals and final live on ProSieben from 8.15pm.
