THE PDC are once again supporting the future stars of golf with sponsorship of its HotelPlanner.com PGA EuroPro Tour event.

The PDC Golf Championship is being held from June 6-8 at Studley Wood Golf Course in Oxfordshire where 156 players are competing to win the £10,000 title on Europe’s leading development tour.

Last year’s event was won by Chris Lloyd who shot rounds of 65, 67 and 76 before winning a Play-Off against Alasdair Dalgleish with a birdie at the first extra hole to clinch the title.

“Just like the PDC circuit, the EuroPro Tour is about providing a platform for talented players to make their breakthrough,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

“In darts we’ve seen the impact Rob Cross has had since developing through our system and hopefully last year’s PDC Golf Champion Chris Lloyd, who won the 2017 EuroPro Tour Order of Merit, can enjoy success in golf."

The PDC Golf Championship was preceded on Tuesday by a Pro-Am featuring guests and sponsors of the PDC playing alongside professional golfers from the PGA EuroPro Tour.

The team prize was won by a team from BBC Sport, with Unibet taking second and Team Perform finishing third, while Brendan McCarroll claimed the top professional prize shooting a round of eight-under-par.

The PDC Golf Championship tees off on Wednesday, June 6. All players will play 36 holes before a cut to the leading 50 players and ties is made after Thursday’s second round. The winner after Friday’s final 18 holes will take home £10,000 from the £50,000 total prize fund.

Spectator entry is free of charge throughout the week and live scoring will be available at www.europrotour.com. A two-hour highlights package from the PDC Golf Championship will air on Sky Sports Golf on Tuesday, June 19.
