THE odds for round one of the 2018 BetVictor World Matchplay are now available from BetVictor following yesterday's draw in Las Vegas.
Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen is strongly fancied at 1/25 to see off Dutch youngster Jeffrey de Zwaan, while the only other previous winner in the field James Wade is 4/11 favourite to beat Jermaine Wattimena.
Two-time World Champion Gary Anderson is 1/5 to defeat Stephen Bunting, World Champion Rob Cross is 2/9 to overcome Mervyn King, while 2017 World Matchplay finalist Peter Wright is 2/9 to get past Jelle Klaasen.
In the outright betting, Van Gerwen is the red-hot favourite with BetVictor to lift a third World Matchplay title and his odds of victory have now come in to 4/6 following the first round draw.
Anderson is the 7/1 joint second favourite alongside Cross, with Wright in at 10/1.
Premier League finalist Michael Smith and 2007 World Matchplay winner Wade are amongst five players rated at 33/1 by the sponsors, while former finalist Adrian Lewis is a 50/1 shot to be crowned champion at the Winter Gardens.
