Unibet World Grand Prix Qualification Update

Ricky Evans (Chris Dean, PDC)

RICKY EVANS' run to a maiden European Tour final has put him in line for a Unibet World Grand Prix debut next month - with one event remaining before the field for the double-start event is finalised.

The former World Youth Championship finalist battled through the field at the Dutch Darts Championship to reach the decider on Sunday night.

Whilst he was defeated by Ian White, the £10,000 prize money has moved the Kettering ace into the provisional qualifying places for October's World Grand Prix.

The 32-player field for the World Grand Prix will be confirmed following next weekend's International Darts Open in Riesa, where £135,000 in prize money will be on offer.

This year's strong form on the European Tour circuit from Joe Cullen and Adrian Lewis has consolidated their status inside the world's top 16.

2018 European Tour event winners Jonny Clayton and Max Hopp head the field of 16 provisional ProTour Order of Merit qualifiers.

Dutch Darts Masters finalist Steve Lennon is set to make his debut on the big stage in his native Ireland, with Players Championship event winners Josh Payne and Jeffrey de Zwaan also in line for a first World Grand Prix appearance.

The International Darts Open will be broadcast throughout the weekend for PDCTV-HD Subscribers, and through a series of bookmakers' websites worldwide.
