Challenge Tour: Ally Pally Race Latest

Cameron Menzies (PDC)

THIS weekend will see one player qualify for the 2018/2019 William Hill World Darts Championship via the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour as the PDC's second-tier tour concludes for the year.

The final Challenge Tour events of 2018 will take place this weekend, with four tournaments to be played across Saturday and Sunday at the East of England Arena in Peterborough.

Following these events, the highest-placed player on the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour Order of Merit will compete at Alexandra Palace, barring players who have already secured qualification for the tournament.

Michael Barnard, a winner of three Challenge Tour events so far this year, currently tops the Order of Merit but is already set for a World Championship return thanks to his standing on the ProTour Order of Merit.

Therefore, second-placed Cameron Menzies is currently in the provisional qualifying place to make his Alexandra Palace debut in December, while New Zealander Cody Harris leads the chasing pack.

The top two players on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit will also win Two-Year PDC Tour Cards for 2019-2020, with the players finishing from third to eighth earning free entry to the 2019 PDC Qualifying School.
