Van Gerwen Even Money Favourite With bwin

Michael van Gerwen Grand Slam of Darts (PDC)

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is the even money favourite to win the 2018 bwin Grand Slam of Darts, but for the first time in almost two years the Dutchman is not odds-on going into a televised event.

Van Gerwen's outright winner odds ahead of a tournament were last priced at evens or odds-against at the 2016/2017 World Championship when he picked up his second World title.

The world number one is aiming for a record-breaking fourth successive Grand Slam title in Wolverhampton next week, with bwin making him favourite to lift the first Eric Bristow Trophy.

UK Open and World Matchplay champion Gary Anderson is second favourite at 5/1, world number two Peter Wright is priced at 9/1, while World Champion Rob Cross is a 14/1 shot.

The 32-player tournament features stars of the PDC and BDO systems from November 10-18 at the Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton live on Sky Sports, with tickets available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk or by calling 0870 320 7000.
