JEFFREY DE ZWAAN breezed past Nitin Kumar 3-0 to become the first winner at the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.

World Matchplay semi-finalist De Zwaan took the opening set in rapid fashion, before Indian Qualifier Kumar fought hard in the second set to take it to a deciding leg.

However, ProTour winner De Zwaan produced a strong last leg to take a 2-0 lead in sets and then took the third set 3-1 to wrap up a comprehensive victory and set up a second round clash with Rob Cross.
