DANIEL LARSSON enjoyed a winning Alexandra Palace with a 3-1 triumph over Robert Thornton in round one of the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
A strong start from Swedish World Cup representative Larsson saw him fire in two 180s before landing a 125 checkout to take the opening set 3-1.
Larsson missed five darts to go two sets up and Thornton found his favourite double top to go level, only for Larsson to regain his advantage at 2-1.
Thornton found double ten with his last dart in hand to take out 48 for a break of throw to go 2-1 up in set four, but Larsson once again came back strongly, winning the final two legs to set up a meeting with Kim Huybrechts in the second round.
