RYAN SEARLE moved into the last 16 of the William Hill World Championship with a 4-1 victory over William O'Connor at Alexandra Palace. 

Searle, who is now guaranteed £35,000 in prize money, won four straight sets after losing the first to continue his impressive debut run in the £2.5 million event. 

O'Connor won a cagey first set before Searle began to find the kind of form that saw him defeat Mensur Suljovic in the previous round.

The Somerset thrower pinned tops in each of this three winning legs in the second set before punishing O'Connor for a missed set dart in set three. 

Searle was again on target on tops to seal the fourth set 3-1 and he capitalised on further missed double from his opponent to race through the fifth set, winning it 3-0.
