New Five-Year Deal For PDC Europe

PDC European Tour (PDC Europe)

THE PDC's partnership with PDC Europe will continue following a new five-year contract with Langenbahn von Moltke which will see the sport's European growth maintained.

The sport has flourished across Europe since 2007, when the PDC first staged ranking events in Germany, working alongside the German Darts Corporation.

Their later evolution into PDC Europe was followed by the introduction of the European Tour in 2012, which has proven an incredible success since and will see 13 tournaments held this year.

The new deal between the PDC and Langenbahn von Moltke will secure the future of the European Tour until at least the end of 2023, as well as retaining the European Championship, World Cup of Darts and World Series of Darts Finals on the European mainland.

"The growth of professional darts across Europe has been one of the biggest success stories of the past decade and it's fantastic to extend our partnership with Langenbahn von Moltke," said PDC Chief Executive Matthew Porter.

"Whilst streamed European Tour events and other TV tournaments in Europe have been hugely successful and attract huge crowds, we are also seeing the hard work on a playing side bear fruit now.

"The recent European Qualifying School showed the strength in depth of players across Europe now, and the European Tour has been a key factor in enabling ambitious players from across the continent to gain experience as a first step onto the PDC circuit.

"The next five years will see us expand further across Europe and it's an exciting time for everyone involved in PDC Europe."

The European Tour will visit the Czech Republic for the first time in 2019, having also successfully staged its first event in Denmark during 2018.

Further European Tour events will be held in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Gibraltar this year, with further territories set to host tournaments in the coming years.

Werner von Moltke, Managing Director of Langenbahn von Moltke, said: "I am thankful for the trust and support which the PDC has given us over the past 12 years and for their decision to continue our partnership moving forward.

"It has always been a pleasure working together, and we are excited to continue our strong partnership in the years ahead.

"Langenbahn von Moltke is proud to be part of the incredible success story of PDC Europe. The PDC can rest assured of our commitment to further expand the reach of this great game on the European continent."
