MORE nine-darter have been hit in the opening two months of the 2019 campaign than ever before following a blistering start to the year.

A staggering 11 perfect legs have been hit already in 2019, making it the first year in which double figures have been reached by the end of February.

Chris Dobey, Michael van Gerwen and Danny Noppert have all hit nine-dart finishes live on PDCTV-HD at Players Championship events, while Ritchie Edhouse took a unique route to perfection on Sunday with two scores of 174 followed by a 153 finish.

Eight nine-dart finishes have been hit on the ProTour, along with two in European Tour qualifiers and one on the Unicorn Challenge Tour.

The 2019 campaign looks on course to break the 2018 record of 29 nine-darters in a year, with PDC stars having the chance to add to the list on Thursday's Night Four of the Unibet Premier League and at this weekend's Ladbrokes UK Open.
