Wade Double Sees Him Top Standings

James Wade (Lawrence Lustig, PDC)

JAMES WADE has moved to the top of the Players Championship Order of Merit following his brilliant double success in Barnsley last weekend.

Following 12 of the 30 Players Championship events to be held this year, Wade's run of three victories in the past four events has propelled him to the top of the standings with £38,000 prize money claimed this year.

He sits £8,000 clear of Gerwyn Price, who also achieved a weekend double with his victories in the fifth and sixth events in February.

Dave Chisnall, a two-time event winner, sits third on £29,000, with Players Championship Ten winner Jonny Clayton just £750 behind.

Following the 30 Players Championship events this year, the leading 64 players will qualify for the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals, which will take place in Minehead from November 22-24.

Wade has also moved up to fourth place on the current ProTour Order of Merit, and remains in ninth place on the main PDC Order of Merit.
