Asian Tour Wins For Lim & Yamada

Paul Lim (PDC Asia)

PAUL LIM and Yuki Yamada shared victories on the fifth weekend of the 2019 PDC Asian Tour in Hong Kong.

Legendary Singapore ace Lim was the winner of Event Nine, defeating Chinese youngster Xiaochen Zong 5-1 in the final.

Lim also overcame Japan's Haruki Muramatsu and Philippines' Noel Malicdem in the latter stages.

Lim was close to completing a weekend double after winning through to Sunday's Event Ten final, only for Yamada to claim a narrow 5-4 win.

Yamada hit back from 3-0 down to lead 4-3 - including a 156 checkout in the sixth leg - before a 13-darter from Lim sent the decider into a decisive ninth leg, which the Japanese ace took in 14 darts.

The results over the weekend mean that both Lim and Lourence Ilagan have now qualified for the 2019/2020 William Hill World Darts Championship.

As the top two players on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, the pair cannot now be caught ahead of the final double-header of 2019, in Singapore on August 31-September 1.
