Pledges ensure Gurney's charity head shave!

Daryl Gurney - Paddy Power Champions League of Darts (PDC)

Daryl Gurney will lose his hair in a special charity challenge at the Paddy Power Champions League of Darts - after £10,000 was raised for the Cystic Fibrosis Care charity.

Gurney had seen best friend Aaron McMenamin pass away in January 2017 after fighting the condition since birth, and the world number three wears a necklace with his photograph on as a constant inspiration.

The Northern Irish star pledged to shave his head during the Paddy Power Champions League of Darts if £10,000 was raised for the charity - with online donations from PDC Chairman Barry Hearn and Gurney's personal sponsor Winmau helping to pass the total.

Gurney is now poised to shave his head on Saturday October 19 following his evening session match in Leicester at the Champions League - radically altering his hairstyle!

Fans can donate through Daryl Gurney's JustGiving page at this link.

Gurney has been drawn in Group B for the BBC-televised event, alongside Rob Cross, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price.

The Paddy Power Champions League of Darts is being held at the Morningside Arena in Leicester on October 19-20.
