The former World Youth Champion had been set to challenge in his third UK Open this weekend, and was due to enter at the fourth stage after establishing himself in the world's top 32.
However, the German ace has been struck by glandular fever and has withdrawn from the tournament.
As a result, one player will receive a Bye in the fourth round draw on Friday.
