After a return to his winning ways on the European Tour, Michael van Gerwen will spend another week on top of the PDC in terms of his performance over his past 100 legs.

His averages increased 0.58 points relative to last week, and on his output over the past 100 legs would expect to win more than 63% of his legs on the Pro Tour - but he will be chagrined by his rank of #48 among tour card holders - behind Connor Scutt and Berry van Peer - when it comes to checkouts.

The most improved player of the week is Rob Cross, who jumped ahead of 9 players on averages (from 20th to 11th highest), 10 players on OChE (25th to 15th) and 19 players on doubles percentage with authoritative performances in Hildesheim, even though he came up short of winning the title.

In his first week after finishing as runner-up in the UK Open and (briefly) surpassing Michael van Gerwen on the Order of Merit, Michael Smith's stats receded slightly as multiple sub-80 averages over the past week knocked him out of the 100-leg averages top 10, with his performances suggestive of winning only 53.5% of Pro Tour legs.

The player who eliminated him, Dimitri Van den Bergh, remained in the Top 10 but missed match darts against MvG hurt all aspects of his ranking and deprived him of the opportunity to contend for the title.

Martin Lukeman's debut year as a professional was already off to a great start, but his blockbuster upset win over Damon Heta - one of darts' hottest players - cemented his status as one of the great finishers of 2022.

Lukeman is in the top 20% of players in terms of averages and leg-winning efficiency, and currently ranks #7 in doubles accuracy - his German Championship exploits have now put him ahead of Josh Rock for the highest-performing member of the Q School class of 2022.

Next week's update will include another Premier League night as well as the next two Players Championship series, with all tour card holders having two chances on the weekend to gain ground in the power rankings.
