Florian Hempel, Rene Eidams, Niko Springer and Dragutin Horvat will be among the eight players battling it out for Interwetten PDC Europe Super League glory on Friday.

The PDC Europe Super League – taking place at the H+ Hotel in Niedernhausen – has seen 24 of Germany's top stars competing for a place in the 2022/23 Cazoo World Darts Championship across the last four days.

Eight players were eliminated on Tuesday following the conclusion of the initial round-robin phase, and with the remaining 16 players split into two groups of eight, the top four players from each group were guaranteed a place at Friday's Finals Day.

Last year's runner-up Hempel will be among the leading contenders for this year's title, and he came into Thursday's action bidding to extend his incredible 17-match winning run.

The 32-year-old, who defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh on his Alexandra Palace debut 12 months ago, saw his unbeaten record ended by Eidams, although he still won four of his seven matches to secure top spot in Group A via legs difference.

Eidams (pictured) won six of his seven matches on Thursday to wrap up second spot, and the pair will be joined in the last eight by Lukas Wenig and recent Players Championship semi-finalist Ricardo Pietreczko, with the duo coming third and fourth respectively.

In Group B, Springer sealed top spot in emphatic style, winning 12 of his 14 round-robin matches while also boasting a 92.7 tournament average - the highest of the remaining 16 players.

Franz Rötzsch, Daniel Klose and 2021 semi-finalist Horvat completed the quarter-final line-up, after Horvat defeated Rötzsch in his final group game to deny Super League debutant David Schlichting a place at Finals Day.

Meanwhile, 2020 champion Nico Kurz and former European Tour event winner Max Hopp were among the big names to miss out on qualification from Group A, with Hopp winning just three of his 14 round-robin fixtures.

Hempel and Horvat will collide in a blockbuster quarter-final showdown on Friday, before Eidams takes on Klose. Elsewhere, Rötzsch and Wenig go head-to-head, while Springer plays Pietreczko for a place in the last four.

The semi-finals and final will also take place on a blockbuster Finals Day on Friday, as the race to Alexandra Palace reaches a thrilling finale in Niedernhausen.
