The race to qualify for the 2023 Betfred World Matchplay will continue at next week’s Players Championship double-header in Hildesheim.

Three events remain before the cut-off for World Matchplay qualification, including Players Championships 13-14, which will take place at Halle 39 on June 12-13, live on PDCTV.

The 32-player field for the 2023 Betfred World Matchplay will then be confirmed following the Interwetten European Darts Matchplay (ET10) in Trier from June 30 to July 2.

The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will be seeded for July’s Blackpool event, as reigning champion Michael van Gerwen eyes a fourth title at the iconic Winter Gardens venue.

World number one Michael Smith, 2021 champion Peter Wright and last year’s runner-up Gerwyn Price are also set to be among the seeded representatives, along with former winners Rob Cross, Dimitri Van den Bergh and James Wade.

They will be joined by 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit, including World Youth Champion Josh Rock, who will be making his debut in the sport’s summer showpiece.

European Champion Ross Smith, UK Open champion Andrew Gilding and Masters champion Chris Dobey are also poised to qualify, along with 2018 World Matchplay winner Gary Anderson.

The tables below show the latest standings in the race to the Betfred World Matchplay, displaying each player's current prize money ahead of the qualification cut-off date (July 2).

Qualifying players will compete across nine days of action at the Winter Gardens from July 15-23, as the sport’s biggest names battle it out for the coveted Phil Taylor Trophy.

N.B. Players competing in Players Championships 13-14 and ET10 who are not listed below can still qualify via the ProTour Order of Merit.

The ProTour Order of Merit table used for Betfred World Matchplay qualification runs from 2022 Players Championship 22 to 2023 European Tour Event Ten.

The Betfred World Matchplay will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding UK, Germany, Austria & Switzerland based subscribers).
