Darts fans in Leicester will have the chance to test their skills against two of the world’s top players at a special appearance to mark the return of the BoyleSports World Grand Prix to the city.

Premier League star Dimitri Van den Bergh and Australian number one Damon Heta will appear at the Leicester branch of Selco Builders Warehouse in Parker Drive on Monday October 2, between 9.30am and 11am.

Darts fans will be given the opportunity to meet the pair and go head-to-head with them in special nine-dart challenges, with prizes up for grabs including tickets for the World Grand Prix, which takes place from October 2-8 at the Morningside Arena.

Belgian star Van den Bergh said: “The World Grand Prix is always a fantastic week and it will be special to meet the fans at the event on Monday morning.

“We are looking forward to attending Selco Leicester and taking on the branch’s colleagues and customers, as well as members of the general public.”

Former World Cup winner Heta added: “It would be great to see loads of darts fans on Monday and I’d encourage anyone in the local area who is a fan to come down.

“It’s sure to be a very fun morning and it will give Dimitri and I some useful practice ahead of our first round matches on Tuesday.”

Selco Builders Warehouse is an official partner of the Professional Darts Corporation and Alison Wong, head of communications and sustainability at Selco, said: “We are delighted to welcome Dimitri and Damon to our Leicester branch.

“They are both popular players and amongst the best in the world, so it will be a unique chance for fans to not only meet them but take them on.

“The branch appearances from PDC players are always very popular events and we look forward to another good turn-out. There is no need to book. Just come to the branch between 9.30am and 11am on Monday morning.”
