Machineseeker to sponsor 2023 European Championship

Machineseeker European Championship

The PDC is delighted to announce Machineseeker as the title sponsor of the 2023 European Championship.

The Machineseeker European Championship will see 32 of the world's top darts players competing for TV silverware from October 26-29 at Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle.

The 16th staging of the tournament will see Ross Smith defend the title he memorably claimed in 2022, with former champions Michael Van Gerwen, Peter Wright, Rob Cross and James Wade looking to regain the coveted title.

World Champion Michael Smith, recent World Grand Prix winner Luke Humphries and world number five Gerwyn Price are also among the players set to star in Dortmund.

Machineseeker is the number one online marketplace for readily available machinery, with over ten million visitors per month.

The European Championship will see Machineseeker title sponsor a PDC event for the first time. Previously the brand has been a co-sponsor of the European Championship and a shirt sponsor of three-time World Champion Van Gerwen.

PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter commented: “We are delighted to announce the new sponsorship with Machineseeker who have had an involvement with darts in the past and we look forward to working together on this exciting new partnership to help the brand further connect with our engaged audience of fans right across Europe.”

Sven Schmidt, CMO of the Machineseeker Group, added: “The European Championship is the second most important darts event globally after the World Darts Championship. We are honoured to become the title sponsor. With Machineseeker, Maschinensucher, Werktuigen and TruckScout24 all our core brands will be featured.”

The Machineseeker European Championship will see the top 32 players from the 2023 European Tour Order of Merit competing for £600,000 in prize money.

The first round will be staged across Thursday and Friday, before the last 16 takes place on Saturday. The tournament reaches its climax with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final on a bumper double-session on Sunday.
