Gary Anderson overhauled Josh Rock on the PDC Order of Merit after winning his third European Tour title in Sindelfingen last weekend.
Anderson retained the Elten Safety Shoes European Darts Grand Prix title in sensational style, whitewashing Andrew Gilding 8-0 to claim the £30,000 top prize.
The two-time World Champion also defeated Gian van Veen, Rob Cross, Martin Lukeman and Dirk van Duijvenbode on his way to glory at the Glaspalast, averaging 110 in his opener against Van Veen.
Anderson also averaged 106 in his semi-final demolition of Van Duijvenbode, reeling off six straight legs to triumph 7-2, before completing an eight-leg blitz of Gilding to take the title.
The 54-year-old now has the Scottish number one spot in his sights, after closing to within £2,000 of Peter Wright, who was beaten 6-1 by Gilding in the quarter-finals at the Glaspalast.
Premier League duo Chris Dobey and Nathan Aspinall both suffered second round exits in Sindelfingen, although Dobey has returned to the world’s top eight at Aspinall’s expense.
Elsewhere, World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker is now the Belgian number one for the first time in his career, climbing above his compatriot Dimitri Van den Bergh to become world number 21.
