Cam Crabtree continued his brilliant form to pick up his second Winmau Development Tour title of the weekend, whilst Jurjen van der Velde returned to winning ways in Germany on Sunday.
The third weekend of Development Tour action continued with another double-header taking place at Halle 39 in Hildesheim, with Crabtree victorious once again, blitzing through the 292-player field to claim Saturday’s opener.
The 21-year-old picked up his second Development Tour title in two days with a 5-1 victory over compatriot Patrik Williams.
Crabtree - who recently secured his Tour Card in January at Qualifying School - raced into a 3-0 lead against Williams.
The Croydon-based star did not let Williams' consolation leg affect him, as he won the last two legs in quick succession and ran out a resounding 5-1 victor.
Crabtree raced into the Last 32 for the loss of only leg, as he beat Cian McCormack and Axel Savelkoel 4-0 respectively, before beating former Development Tour winner Ryan Branley 4-1 in the Last 128.
In the Last 32, Denfie Drenthen would win the opening leg in his contest against Crabtree, but the Englishman walked away a 4-2 winner, before beating Viktor Tingstrom 4-3 in a last-leg decider.
Crabtree would then go on to beat Order of Merit leader Beau Greaves in a thrilling contest, beating the two-time Women's World Matchplay champion 5-4, before seeing off fellow Tour Card holder Tavis Dudeney by the same scoreline in the semi-final.
Van der Velde - who suffered an early exit in the first tournament of the day - celebrated success in the second tournament of the day, defeating Henry Coates 5-4 in a last-leg decider.
Coates - who made his debut at the UK Open earlier this year - raced into a 2-0 lead with legs of 14 and 17 darts, but Van der Velde responded in excellent fashion to level the game up at two apiece.
Van der Velde then won three out of the next five legs in 15, 19 and 16 darts to secure his fourth Development Tour title.
The 22-year-old Dutchman kicked off his Event 14 campaign with back-to-back whitewash victories over Liam Maendl-Lawrence and Viktor Tingstrom respectively, before beating Kimi Seemann 4-3 and Huey de Jong 4-1 to book his place in the Last 16.
Van der Velde then produced his best average of the event, as he beat Challenge Tour winner Jamai van den Herik 4-0 with an average of just over 100.
Florian Preis and Ronan McDonagh both fell short of beating Van der Velde, succumbing to 5-2 defeats as the World Youth Championship runner-up raced to the £2,500 top prize.
The 2025 Winmau Development Tour season concludes on Sunday with Event 15, as the remaining 285-player field will look to battle it out for the final title of the weekend.
The top two players from the 2025 Development Tour Order of Merit will each win a PDC Tour Card for 2026-27 and a place in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
As a result of Friday and Saturday’s performances, Crabtree has moved into second on the Development Tour Order of Merit, with Greaves still occupying top spot.
