Humphries & Littler to headline World Series double-header Down Under

Luke Humphries (PDC)

Luke Humphries and Luke Littler will be amongst the star attractions when the World Series of Darts returns to Australia and New Zealand later this year.

The PDC’s annual trip Down Under will begin with the KenoGO Australian Darts Masters in Wollongong on August 8-9, before the SkyCity New Zealand Darts Masters returns to Auckland on August 15-16.

Each World Series event will see a 16-player field competing over two days of action, as eight PDC superstars go head-to-head with eight Oceanic representatives.

Humphries celebrated his maiden World Series of Darts title in New Zealand last year, and the world number one will return in this year’s double-header following an impressive showing 12 months ago.

World Champion Littler – the reigning World Series of Darts Finals champion – will also take centre stage, having also tasted success on the World Series circuit at the Bahrain Darts Masters and Poland Darts Masters in 2024.

The world’s top two will be joined by their Premier League rivals Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price and Chris Dobey, as the latter prepares to make his debut Down Under.

Price stormed to victory in last year’s Australian Darts Masters with an 8-1 thumping of Littler, having previously lifted the New Zealand Darts Masters crown in 2022.

Meanwhile, Bunting – the winner at the Bahrain Darts Masters in January – will compete in Australia and New Zealand for the first time in a decade, following his resurgence over the last 18 months.

Australian number one Damon Heta will also feature as one of the PDC superstars, after the former World Cup winner broke into the world’s top eight earlier this year.

The two additional PDC representatives competing in August’s double-header will be confirmed in due course, with Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Nathan Aspinall missing out due to family reasons.

The Oceanic representatives will be headlined by Heta’s World Cup partner Simon Whitlock, who is set to maintain his ever-present World Series record Down Under.

The Australian icon will compete in both events alongside New Zealand’s number one Haupai Puha, with the remaining qualifiers still to be finalised.
