2025 Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters preview

The 2025 Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters begins on Friday, as the Forum Copenhagen plays host to the fifth staging of the World Series of Darts event.

Following events in Bahrain and Den Bosch in January, the 2025 World Series of Darts continues in the Danish capital on June 6-7, as a 16-player field compete for televised silverware.

World number one Luke Humphries headlines a high-quality line-up in Copenhagen, fresh from his memorable Premier League triumph last Thursday.

Humphries performed magnificently to capture his maiden Premier League crown, as he moved into double figures for televised titles won during the last two years.

The 30-year-old will now return to big stage action against Latvian number one Madars Razma - the top-ranked Nordic & Baltic representative in action this weekend.

“You can’t win all these titles and not be hungry. You can’t become lazy,” insisted Humphries, who lifted his maiden World Series title in New Zealand back in August.

“I hope my Premier League win drives me and makes me hungry to win more.

“I’m going to be working hard to get better and I'll make some tweaks to my set-up which is going to help me improve.

“I’m still young so I’ve got the chance to change things and get better.

“I feel like I need to, because if I don’t, the younger generation are going to come through and take over.”

Friday’s first round will see the eight PDC superstars taking on eight Nordic and Baltic challengers, with reigning champion Gerwyn Price pitted against Norway’s Cor Dekker.

Price powered to victory in Copenhagen 12 months ago, defeating Dimitri Van den Bergh, Michael Smith and Rob Cross to celebrate World Series glory.

The Welshman could play Humphries in the quarter-finals if he overcomes Dekker, who became the first Norwegian representative to secure a PDC Tour Card at European Qualifying School in January.

World Champion Luke Littler will also headline this weekend’s event, and the teenage sensation opens his title challenge against emerging Swedish prospect Viktor Tingstrom.

Littler missed last year’s visit to Copenhagen, but he will be eyeing a return to winning ways on his Nordic Darts Masters debut after relinquishing his Premier League crown a week ago.

Nathan Aspinall also missed out on Premier League glory at The O2, although the Stockport star responded by lifting the European Darts Open title in Leverkusen on Sunday.

Aspinall will now begin his bid for back-to-back titles against Benjamin Reus, who is targeting a maiden big stage victory on home soil.

“To bounce back after the defeat last Thursday and win in Leverkusen, it shows where my game's at at the moment,” insisted former World Matchplay champion Aspinall.

“If you want something you have to fight, to believe you can do it.

“When things are not going your way, you have to keep fighting, believing that you can get back to your best.

“That's what I do, week-in and week-out, and the last few weeks have been pretty good.”

Top seed Stephen Bunting – January’s Bahrain Darts Masters champion – kicks off his campaign with a tie against Sweden’s World Cup quarter-finalist Oskar Lukasiak.

Meanwhile, Lukasiak’s World Cup partner Jeffrey de Graaf will take on Chris Dobey, who received a late-call up following the withdrawal of 2021 champion Michael van Gerwen due to family reasons.

2024 Nordic Darts Masters runner-up Cross – a five-time winner on the World Series circuit – also faces Swedish opposition in Andreas Harrysson.

Harrysson defeated Raymond van Barneveld and Michael Smith to reach the third round of last weekend's European Darts Open, and now he’s eyeing the scalp of another World Champion in Copenhagen.

Elsewhere, Welsh number one Jonny Clayton marks his first World Series appearance in over 18 months with a tie against Lithuania’s former World Championship quarter-finalist Darius Labanauskas in Friday's finale.

Following the conclusion of Friday's first round, the Nordic Darts Masters will reach its climax with a bumper evening session on Saturday, which will feature the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final at Forum Copenhagen.

The Mr Vegas Nordic Darts Masters will be broadcast live on ITV4 in the UK, through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria & Switzerland based subscribers).
