The 'D20 for £20' Challenge will trigger a £20 donation for every Double 20 hit in double-start tournament
BOYLE Sports has launched an exciting charity initiative for this year's World Grand Prix, as the countdown continues to the unique double-start tournament.
The 'D20 for £20' Charity Challenge will see BOYLE Sports contribute £20 for every double 20 that is hit during the week-long event, which takes place from October 6-12 at Leicester's Mattioli Arena.
The player who hits the most double 20s throughout the tournament will get to choose what charity will benefit from the lump sum.
The BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix is renowned for its unique format and the challenging double-in, double-out element means the double 20 becomes a frequent target for players seeking to maximise their scoring potential.
Last year's World Grand Prix saw the double 20 hit 365 times, with James Wade leading the stats with a whopping 40 during his run to the quarter-finals. BOYLE Sports subsequently boosted the haul of £7,300 to a total of £10,000, which Wade opted to donate to Bipolar UK.
Commenting on the initiative, Brian O'Keeffe, Senior Media Relations Manager for BOYLE Sports, said: "The double-in format always makes the BOYLE Sports World Grand Prix a standout occasion to shine a light on some brilliant causes and we’re excited to see which player comes out tops.
"Partnering with the PDC once again gives us the chance to make a real difference for the chosen charity, while celebrating one of the most exciting and unique events on the darts calendar."
PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: "BOYLE Sports has always been committed to backing charities through the World Grand Prix and once again this year we’re delighted to give our players a unique and innovative way to support the causes that matter most to them."
