Reyes returns as six players seal Paddy Power World Darts Championship spot

Cristo Reyes and Andy Baetens were among the six players to confirm their places at the Paddy Power World Darts Championship during a busy weekend of global action.

Reyes will return to Alexandra Palace for the first time since 2019/20 thanks to success at the Mediterranean Qualifier, as the Spaniard beat Ricardo Perez 7-4 in the final.

Reyes dropped off the PDC circuit following the Covid-19 Pandemic, having made six successive World Championship appearances, and will now make a welcome return to the big stage.

Belgian ace Baetens also secured qualification to the World Championship and will make his debut after winning the PDCE Netherlands & Belgium Qualifier in Den Bosch, seeing off Jimmy van Schie in their decider.

Croatian star Boris Krcmar, who has featured at five World Championships, secured his spot at Alexandra Palace thanks to victory at the South-East Europe Qualifier.

Adam Gawlas will also be returning to Alexandra Palace after a three-year hiatus, as the 23-year-old won the Czechia Qualifier to secure his spot.

Krzysztof Kciuk, meanwhile, secured his spot at his third World Championship with success at the PDO Polish Qualifier in Tarnowo Podgorne, defeating Adrian Sawiński 6-1 in the final.

Mitsuhiko Tatsunami is another player making his debut at Alexandra Palace, claiming first place at the Steel Darts Japan Tour to ensure his first appearance at Ally Pally in December.

The race for qualification for Alexandra Palace concludes this week, as only six further spots remain available.

One space will be awarded to the Dabble Darts ANZ Premier League Winner on November 22, with the final five places will be decided at the Tour Card Holder Qualifier on Monday November 24.

Should the ANZ Premier League be won by a player who has already qualified for the World Championship - or be ineligible, in the case of Raymond Smith, who has a prior commitment - then the spot at Ally Pally will be allocated to the domestic ranking from which the player qualified for the ANZ Premier League.
