De Sousa among five stars to secure final Alexandra Palace slots

Jose De Sousa

Jose De Sousa will return to Alexandra Palace, as Haupai Puha, Adam Hunt, Tavis Dudeney and Stephen Burton also claimed the final spots in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship at Monday’s Tour Card Holder Qualifier in Leicester.

Monday’s qualifier at the Mattioli Arena saw 44 players battle it out for last-gasp qualification to the sport's flagship event, which will take place from December 11 until January 3.

Former Grand Slam of Darts champion De Sousa will return to the World Championship after missing out last year, winning a sudden-death leg against Andy Boulton.

New Zealand number one Puha will also return to Alexandra Palace, surviving match darts against Brett Claydon to come out the victor of their last-leg decider.

Hunt will make his first appearance at the World Championship since 2021/22, whilst JDC product Dudeney will make his debut and Burton secured his second successive Ally Pally appearance.

The draw for the Paddy Power World Darts Championship will take place at approximately 1630 GMT on Monday November 24, live on Sky Sports News in the UK.
