2023/24 World Champion Luke Humphries received his MBE from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on Wednesday.

Humphries was recognised for his contribution to the sport of darts in the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours List this summer - alongside Luke Littler - and he was presented with the accolade at an investiture ceremony earlier today.

Humphries, 30, has played a pivotal role in the sport’s global growth over recent years, enjoying a near two-year stint as world number one following a sensational sequence of televised titles.

The Newbury-born star made his initial breakthrough as the 2019 World Youth Champion, before taking glory in a PDC Premier event for the first time at the 2023 World Grand Prix.

This paved the way for a stunning period of dominance, which also saw him celebrate Grand Slam of Darts and Players Championship Finals success, before he was crowned World Champion in January 2024 following a record-breaking final against Littler.

Humphries also won the World Matchplay, World Cup of Darts and retained the Players Championship Finals title in 2024, and he added to his haul of titles earlier this year, following up a maiden World Masters triumph by storming to Premier League glory in May.

"It was a massive privilege and honour to receive my MBE from the Prince of Wales today," reflected Humphries.

"This is a great achievement for me and my family, and I couldn't have achieved this without them.

"I'm very grateful for the platform I get as a professional darts player, and I'm very proud to have made such an impact and receive such a prestigious award."

Humphries will return to competitive action at the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship, which gets underway at London’s Alexandra Palace on Thursday December 11.

This year’s World Championship features an expanded 128-player field with a staggering top prize of £1m, and Humphries will open his title challenge on Saturday December 13, as he faces Ted Evetts in a battle of the former World Youth Champions.
