Michael van Gerwen took victory in the 2026 Promi Darts Championship alongside Joey Kelly in Germany on Sunday evening.

Dutch legend Van Gerwen was one of six PDC stars to feature in the eighth edition of the Celebrity Pro-Am event, which took place in front of 2,500 fans at the Maritim Hotel in Bonn.

World Championship runner-up Gian van Veen also made the trip to Germany, alongside Gerwyn Price and Stephen Bunting - who he will compete against in this year’s Premier League.

Germany’s number one Martin Schindler and former World Matchplay champion Nathan Aspinall completed the line-up of PDC superstars, although it was Van Gerwen who came out on top alongside musician and extreme athlete Kelly.

The pair defeated Nathan Aspinall and TV chef Alexander Kumptner in Sunday’s showpiece, completing a 3-1 victory to triumph on German soil.

World number two Luke Humphries teamed up with presenter Gülcan Kamps to finish top of Group A, defeating Van Gerwen and Kelly, as well as Schindler and his partner Reiner Calmund, the former managing director of Bayer Leverkusen.

However, they were beaten 2-1 by Van Gerwen and Kelly in the semi-finals, which set up a winner-takes-all showdown against Aspinall and Kumptner, who accounted for Van Veen and influencer Cathy Hummels in the last four.

Van Veen and Hummels had sealed top spot in Group B, having also dispatched Bunting and his partner Ailton - formerly of Werder Bremen.
