Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship - Semi-Finals

PHIL TAYLOR will face Peter Manley in the final of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship on Monday after overcoming Wayne Mardle in a thrilling clash at the Circus Tavern

The 12-time World Champion saw Mardle come from 3-0 down to lead 4-3 in their semi-final contest before he emerged victorious 6-5 following a deciding set.

"I'm absolutely shattered, what a match," said Taylor. "I had to dig in but I never thought I was going to lose and I don't think I've ever felt this proud of myself."

Taylor will meet Manley in a repeat of the 1999 and 2002 finals, which The Power won.

Manley booked his place in a third Purfleet final with a 6-0 whitewash of Wayne Jones.

The qualifier from Wolverhampton never recovered after narrowly losing the first set, and some inspired darts from Manley saw him pull away in style.

"It's one of my best performances," admitted Manley, who recently moved into a new house in Carlisle.

He added: "I've won at least £50,000, which means I can pay off my mortgage! I've only been in for three weeks, so I'm delighted - if I win maybe I'll get an extension!"

Tournament sponsors Ladbrokes.com make Taylor the 1/8 favourite for the final, with Manley at 9/2.
