Lewis Chasing Dubai Title

ADRIAN LEWIS is aiming to claim his second PDC World Series of Darts title at the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters.

The two-time World Champion became only the third player, behind Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor, to win a World Series of Darts event with his stunning triumph in the inaugural Auckland Darts Masters last August.

The world number four kicks off his bid to win the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters on Thursday night against Dave Chisnall, and said: "It would be lovely to win it, there's only one person's name on the trophy at the moment, so to take that off him would be lovely.

"I think I lost 11-9 to him the last time we met here and I don't think I was good enough on that occasion. This time I'm up for it and we'll have a good go.

"It's the first World Series event of the year and it's the only tournament we play outdoors, and that's what makes it unique.

"You get the odd wind here and there, but it's the same for both players and we just go up there to enjoy it."

Lewis landed a nine-dart finish in the Betway Premier League earlier this year, and with a Mercedes-Benz GLC 250 SUV on offer for the first player to achieve a perfect leg in Dubai this week the Stoke ace is aiming to produce another unforgettable moment.

"The crowd pay their money and they want to see things like that, so to go up there is just a brilliant feeling," he said, speaking on Dubai One TV.

"When you're up there, you want to make sure that seventh treble 20 is perfect, the crowd are lifted and it's quite hard to keep your concentration to be honest - you're willing it to go in and it just happens!"

Tickets for the Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters are still available and can be purchased via www.dubai-darts.com.

The Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters will be screened live on Dubai Sports TV and OSN across the Middle East.

Coverage will also be screened on ITV4 in the UK (from 9pm BST on both days) and live worldwide through the PDC's series of broadcast partners, as well as via www.LIVEPDC.TV (outside of UK).
