Lloyd Confirmed As Number One

COLIN LLOYD has regained the number one spot in the World Rankings following his success in the PDPA Players Championship - while Barrie Bates and Raymond van Barneveld continued to rise up the standings.

Lloyd saw Phil Taylor return to the world number one spot at the Budweiser UK Open last weekend.

However, the defending Stan James World Matchplay champion's form at Hayling Island, where he won Saturday's Players Championship and was a semi-finalist the following day, puts him back to the top of the tree.

UK Open finalist Barrie Bates has jumped from 32 in the rankings to 27th, while Wayne Mardle moves above Peter Manley into fourth.

Van Barneveld has now moved up 34 places in a fortnight, with his win in Sunday's Players Championship taking him into 57th place.

However, with a view to the Order of Merit which is introduced next year, van Barneveld is now sat sixth in the rankings based on prize money won.
