GLENN POWER has won the inaugural DPA Australian Open, earning himself an invitation to the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts.
Power picked up his third successive title on the DPA circuit with a 10-7 defeat over Pat Oreal in an all-Queensland final.
Power, the number one seed for the tournament, has now overtaken Simon Whitlock at the head of the Australian Grand Prix standings - putting him in pole position to win a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
He also now receives, as the Australian Open champion, an invitation to compete in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts in November.
Barry Jouannet and Ray O'Donnell won through to the semi-finals, but former Australian internationals Russell Stewart, Wayne Weening and Darren Webster were first round losers.
