Rocket Fires Past Harvey

Ronnie Baxter 2-0 Jamie Harvey (3-1, 3-1)
Sky Bet World Grand Prix First Round

RONNIE BAXTER overcame Jamie Harvey in style to launch his challenge at the Sky Bet World Grand Prix.

Baxter reached the semi-finals of the tournament 12 months ago but has since moved up to number three in the world rankings.

He supported that status with a strong display against Harvey, dropping just two legs in a dominant performance.

"It was a good tester," said Baxter. "Jamie was throwing well, especially getting off in the legs, and I knew I had to step in when he let me.

"But I'm enjoying my darts at the moment and I'm so confident going up there on stage.

"I set my stall out tonight and it went right for me - hopefully it will for the rest of the week!"
