JAMES WADE claimed another title with an 8-2 victory against Ronnie Baxter in the final of the Blue Square UK Open Scottish Regional Final.
Wade, playing in his second final of the weekend at the Magnum Centre in Irvine, was in simply irresistible mood in the final - landing four ton-plus finishes to see off Baxter.
The SkyBet World Grand Prix winner trailed 1-0 to Baxter before levelling and then taking out a brilliant 170 finish to break the throw in leg three.
He took the fourth with a 90 finish before Baxter punished a rare missed double top from Wade to win the fifth and pull back to 3-2.
It was the closest he would get, with Wade winning the sixth in 14 darts, landing a maximum to leave 40 before hitting double ten.
A 145 finish broke the throw and put the 24-year-old 5-2 up and a 128 finish saw him move 7-2 ahead and to the brink of victory.
He then produced a second maximum to leave 105 in the next leg, and needed just three more darts to add a further £6,000 to his prize money for the year.
Wade enjoyed a 7-3 win over Jason Clark in the semis to reach his tenth Pro Tour final of the year, and saw of Jelle Klaasen 6-1 in the quarters.
Mervyn King, a 5-4 victim in the last 16, was the closest player to Wade on the day, with Barrie Bates, Dave Ladley and Richard McLaughlin also victims of the world number three.
Baxter was forced to come from behind in a fine semi-final against Denis Ovens - with the Hertfordshire thrower missing double 12 for a nine-darter and also leading 6-5 before the final two legs went the way of Baxter.
He also defeated Mark Dudbridge and Kevin Painter as well as Steve Beaton and Alan Warriner-Little on his way to the final.
Clark reached the semi-finals for a second successive day in his best weekend of the year so far.
Ovens' run increased his chances of winning one of the final two places in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts, although rivals Painter and Dudbridge also reached the last 16 and last eight respectively.
