THE WIZARD Simon Whitlock once again proved too good for all opposition at the Castle Hill RSL Club comfortably taking out the first ever Castle Hill Crystal Clear Data Darts Open by defeating Brian Roach.
Some interesting opposition fronted for the Wizard throughout the day with none other than former Australian International Russell Stewart also present.
In the best of eleven Legs the final score of 6-2 did not reflect how Well Brian threw but the powerhouse play of Simon was to strong for Brian with consistent 15 dart legs .Simon also collected himself a 170 finish in the third leg of the final to polish off the leg in 12 darts.
Simon collected a cool $2000 Cash sponsored by CC Data and Castle Hill RSL and categorty two ranking points. Brian for his efforts received $1000 as runner up.
Semi Finalists at this Years Event and collecting $500 each were Dave Fitzpatrick and Peter Corcoran who overcame Russell Stewart in his quarter Final Match in a nail biter.
A great number of entries were received for this tournament. This is the first time Dartplayers Australia have been associated with Castle Hill RSL and it was encouraging to also see many women stick it to the men in the open draw.
