SIMON WHITLOCK won the opening event of the Park Trent Australian Grand Prix in Wagga Wagga.
Whitlock defeated Shane Haddy 6-0 to take the win and give himself the ideal start to the AGP campaign.
The player topping the AGP rankings following the 15 events will win a place in the 2008 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, with Whitlock admitting: "That's my goal."
