Young Tops NA Order of Merit

DARIN YOUNG, Scott Burnett and Ken MacNeill have qualified for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

Young has topped the North American Order of Merit for a second successive year, after the final tournaments were staged in north America for 2009 in Atlanta last weekend.

Young picked up prize money in all six ranked events, including reaching the semi-finals of Saturday's Atlanta Players Championship.

That eventually secured him top spot, ahead of May's North American Darts Championship winner Scott Burnett.

Burnett and Canada's Ken MacNeil will now make their debuts in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship in December.

MacNeil finished fourth, behind world number four John Part, having jumped above Bill Davis by reaching the quarter-finals of Saturday's Players Championship.

Young has previously competed three times in the World Championship, while Burnett made his televised debut in the Las Vegas Desert Classic in June, where he lost to Part in round one.
