Five more qualifiers confirmed for 2025 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts

Nathan Aspinall & Stephen Bunting (PDC)

Stephen Bunting, Nathan Aspinall, Gary Anderson and Martin Schindler were amongst the stars to have their qualification confirmed for next month’s Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts following the conclusion of the World Grand Prix.

Luke Littler stormed to his maiden World Grand Prix crown with a 6-1 victory over Luke Humphries in Sunday’s showpiece, as the world’s top two players went head-to-head at Leicester’s Mattioli Arena.

The finalists from PDC televised events over a 12-month period and additional qualifiers will make up to 24 places at this year’s Grand Slam, which takes place in Wolverhampton from November 8-16.

With Littler and Humphries already qualified for the Grand Slam, and with only the European Championship remaining for players to seal automatic qualification, there will now be a minimum of five spaces available for 2025 European Tour event winners in this year’s field.

As a result, Bunting, Aspinall, Anderson and Schindler - all winners on the European Tour circuit this year - will compete for the coveted Eric Bristow Trophy at the WV Active Aldersley next month.

Hungarian Darts Trophy winner Niko Springer will also qualify if this weekend’s European Tour event in Hildesheim is won by a pre-qualified player, or a player ranked below him on the PDC Werner Rankings Ladder.

It was also a landmark weekend for Cam Crabtree, who sealed his Grand Slam qualification by virtue of clinching top spot on the 2025 Winmau Development Tour rankings.

The promising 22-year-old will make his Wolverhampton debut after winning five Development Tour titles across the campaign, having also impressed in his first year on the PDC ProTour circuit.

A total of 19 players have now confirmed their spots in the 32-player field, which will be headlined by reigning champion Littler, world number one Humphries and three-time Grand Slam champion Michael van Gerwen.

Northern Ireland’s World Cup champions Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney will also star in the West Midlands, while 2024 Grand Slam finalist Martin Lukeman, James Wade, Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price qualify as runners-up in TV events.

2024 World Youth Champion Gian van Veen and runner-up Jurjen van der Velde have also confirmed their qualification, alongside July's Women’s World Matchplay champion Lisa Ashton and Beau Greaves, who is guaranteed top spot on the 2025 PDC Women’s Series rankings.

Lourence Ilagan sealed his spot by retaining the PDC Asian Championship title last month, although he has since withdrawn from the tournament due to medical reasons, and has been replaced in the field by runner-up Alexis Toylo.

The winner of the CDC Continental Cup - which takes place this weekend - will also feature in the 32-player field, along with the winner of the 2025 Challenge Tour rankings.

A further eight players will also come through the PDC Tour Card Holder Qualifier on October 31, after which the full line-up will be finalised.

The 2025 Grand Slam of Darts will be the last in the original 32-player format before the tournament expands to feature 48 stars from next year.
